Project SOILval – Recognising SOil values in land use planning systems

  • Objective
    To assess whether and how soil biodiversity, functions and related Ecosystem Services (ES) (here after soil values) already are or could be better recognised and integrated into sustainable land use planning decision-making processes for a wide range of French and Walloon stakeholders that are involved in land use decisions. In particular, looking at how soil values are integrated in the perspective of “No net land take by 2050” objective set by EU Commission (1) and declined in France under “zero artificialisation nette – ZAN” (2) and in the Walloon Region under “Stop béton” (3).
